About this site
Point & Click is a fan-made resource for people who want to (re)play the classic adventure games of the late 1980s and 1990s — and can't remember how to actually get hold of them in 2024.
For every game in the catalogue, we answer one question: how do I play this today? That means links to GOG and Steam where available, ScummVM compatibility notes, browser-playable versions on the Internet Archive, and abandonware sources for titles that have fallen through the cracks.
What's ScummVM?
ScummVM is a free, open-source program that replaces the executable in many classic point-and-click adventures, letting them run on modern operating systems. It supports hundreds of games and is the most reliable way to play many titles that predate Windows XP.
To use ScummVM, you need the original game files (from a disc, GOG, or abandonware) and the ScummVM application. Installation instructions are on the ScummVM website.
Abandonware
Some games listed here are no longer commercially available and exist only on fan-preservation sites. The legal status of abandonware varies by country — we link to it as a last resort for games with no other route to play them.
